Thankful in the darkness
For the past four years I have been a pinata with life swinging a large stick. I know I am not the only one in this cyber world with similar life outcomes. We may have different life problems, but life’s stick stings the same. As Thanksgiving arrives, I was going to write a cliche filled, lets all keep going, we can do it word salad. Then I moved to a poor list of issues that have taken place since 2020. I finally settled on being thankful in the darkness.
I have a feeling some of you understand the feeling of constantly being in the darkness. Life’s punches have been so frequent and so vicious that it is difficult, sometimes impossible to see the sun. We can read all the motivational cliches, memes, videos, books and we can even be the one saying, posting all the positive poly annas but not really believing it for ourselves. I know there are others out there as well who try to be positive, motivate others and present only a strong image. But inside, the story is different. The story is not just cloudy, it’s pretty damn dark.
Wallow or be thankful in the darkness. Wallow seems comfortable because it’s the easier of the two. How do we be thankful in the darkness? I’m not sure I have the magic wand for my fellow wallowers, but let me do my best to share my own in hopes it parts some of your own clouds.
